The Royal Dames of Cancer Research, Inc. was founded in 1969 as a corporation in Broward County, Florida, organized exclusively to raise funds to encourage, aid, enrich and support valuable educational programs and critical cancer research at the Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research (RGI) of Nova Southeastern University.
Generous support from Royal Dames has been instrumental in the discovery and development of two new anti-angiogenic cancer drugs at RGI that have received US patent approval in 2011. Continuing support from Royal Dames is also crucial for training and educating numerous undergraduate and graduate students at RGI for conducting cancer research and grooming them as future scientists.
